Tony Sakac, who is 33 years old now, was diagnosed as being in a Persistent Vegetative State 16 years ago. He doesn't live in a long term care facility. His father, Steve Sakac, has quit his job in 1991 and has been caring for Tony since then, hoping that Tony would be able to swallow food and speak again and walk on his own. Steve didn't believe the neurologist's prognosis that with the brain damage sustained by his son there is virtually no chance for Tony's recovery. Steve is hopeful.
